Service-Learning Project

Yo 0820, we have to come up with ideas and decide on what we want to do for OUR Service-Learning project.

Some have suggested the following:

1. SPCA/ACRES (activities to do with animals and animal associations);
   can collabotate with nanyang interest group - PAW
   
2. Go void deck find old folks/elderlys and have a get along session;
   then sing karaoke with them -.-
   
3. Organise Christmas party for needy children;
   can be orpahnage or other handicap associations

You can either suggest more/better ideas or vote for the one you prefer. When we have finalised roughly what we want to do, we will start planning for the activites.

Student Handbook 2009 Money Collection

Please bring $5 on 28th Oct, this coming Tuesday, for 2009 student handbook.

EVERYONE will have to pay the $5 as there will be no 2nd collection. Please pass the $5 to Amanda BEFORE 1pm.

'Care For NYJC' Day

Hello people, this is regarding the 'Care For NYJC' Day on this coming Wednesday, 29th Oct 2008, from 9am to 10am.

Objective: Each class will be assigned to clean the allocated walls inside and outside of the venues(s).

For our lovely class, 0820, we are assigned to clean classes 0455 + 0454 + 0453 . :D

Each one of you is required to bring RAG(S). Detergents will be provided by the school.

We are only required to clean away the hand/foot/ball/other foreign prints on the wall, up till eye level. After our cleaning, Mr Quek will be coming around to check on our progress. Only then will we be dismissed. :)

Hi PW-ers,

i know u deserve a good rest.. but for a youngster, a good nites sleep is all you need to rejuvenate urself.
When u are indulging in self-pity as to how hard you have worked, at 4pm today, i saw other classes meeting their tutor for feedback on their drafts of I&R .

we need to move on!

get a draft of I&R ready latest by monday.
lets try to make this less painful for all of us. I have emailed u a masterpiece done by moi and do heed the advice there. check ur email. there are many guiding Q and by working on a few of them, u can easily hit 500 words.
after many rounds of WR, i hope u learnt something about being insightful.
No trivial grandmother's stories pls, you have graduated from WR.

also during this weekend, think through what to do for OP, the allocation of work, and any stunts like skit, dance, sing, video, etc that you are doing. whatever it is, just make sure that u dont look like any of the american idol rejects. i need some ideas by monday morning too.

Ms Tan would like to meet the PW groups for a short while after the Service Learning Seminar tomorrow (10 october). It takes less than half an hour, so please turn up. She will be passing us some I&R stuff.

At the same time, submit the new WR full version (printed out) to Ms Tan. It must be printed out or she wont be able to read during the weekends. Pls e-mail Ms Tan a soft copy of your WR also. Bring along the previous drafts of WR as well, especially the one marked by the mysterious assesor as Ms Tan wants to do comparison.

Class, please go to our nyjc website to choose the seminar you want to attend on Service Learning Day. Its compulsory and you have until 9 October 2008 to make your choice. I think its quite important ar, so faster go click hor.

Some were suggesting that we join the same seminar.
Got 3 choices:

1. Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES)
2. Singapore Heart Foundation
3. Habitat for Humanity

I think its on a first come first served basis. If you all want to join the same seminar then decide on one on the tagboard.

Class Outing - 8th Oct

Hello all. This post is about the class outing suggested by some of your classmates. :)
Please sms either Amanda or MingHui (asap!) whether you can make it on the 8th Oct, Wednesday for the outing or not! :D

Location: Sentosa or Pasir Ris Park or East Coast Park
Time: Depending on which location. If Sentosa, meet at Vivo City around 12.30pm 1pm.
If Park, meet there directly around 1pm.
Things to Bring: Light snacks (your favourite potato chips, drinks, biscuit, sweets, jelly and what not. no China milk products lol), Picnic mats, Balls (whatever kind), Original games (someone prepare? :) forfeit and everything)

Sooooooo. As you guys can see, the question now is, WHERE do you wanna go? Suggest to us, either on the tag board, msn, or sms Amanda or MingHui ASAP please! :D
